In the world of modern media which includes the presence of a pack of media indsutries and up front journalism, the real movers and shakers are the people behind the stage, the PR people and the lobbysts. PR in media is all about communication that builds relationships at various levels like community, organization and corporate sector. It leads to strong media industry partnerships and financail support. Masters in Public Relations has been designed with the help of industry professionals and alumni. The internal staff as well as professionals from the industry will be conducting the lectures. The Department has a full-fledged computer lab and can impart industry oriented training for the course.
This programme that combines both theory and practical will help students learn and practice the important aspects of Public Relations in the media world. Students are introduced to Public Relations Theory and Practice, Media Relations and Media Writing, Organizational Behaviour and HR policies, Research in Public Relations, Ethics in PR, Public Relations Campaigns, New Media and Technologies in Public Relations, Role of Finance in Public Relations, Media Management and Media advocacy, The learning will also involve practical in each subject so as to help students gain practical experience in the field of Public Relations. The course will culminate with dissertations that involves continuous evaluation of dissertation of the learners.
